Eye on Films Focus: OLIVER SHERMAN is already confirmed by 3 EoF festivals and 2 EoF distributors
Developped by Wide Management with the support of the MEDIA Mundus programme, the Eye on Films project (EoF) has launched on march 14th, 2011 a call for films, in order to enhance the circulation of European and non European films, everywhere in the world.
Bringing together 31 international partners, including 15 festivals and 16 distributors, the project aims to implement a selection of a dozen of recent films, 1st or 2nd feature films (fiction, animation, long-lenght documentaries), never screened or released outside their country of origin. Selected by the members of the EoF network, the films will have the opportunity to get selected in the different festival partners and to be released via the distributors of the network.
OLIVER SHERMAN is already confirmed for festival screening and release in Hungary…
Ryan Redford’s debute feature, which premiered in Toronto and won the award for best first film at Montreal Festival du Nouveau Cinema, will be screening at the forthcoming Titanic Budapest Film Festival (april 8-15)
and released by Hungarian distribution outfit Anjou-Lafayette (represented in Eye on Film by Endre Venczel), in the first deal signed under the Eye on Films project (EoF).
Despite the recent film funding cuts in Hungary, the two local EoF partners – György Horvath (Budapest Film Festival) and Endre Venczel (of Anjou Lafayette) have remained in the indie EoF scheme recently launched by Wide Management.
… and will circulate in USA and France
Besides Hungary, we are pleased to announce that OLIVER SHERMAN will also participate in the US EoF festival :
Seattle International Film Festival (19 may - 12 june)
and will be released in France by Kanibal Films (Arnaud KERNEGUEZ)
after an avant-premiere at Festival Paris Cinema (2-13 july 2011).
And it’s only the beginning!…
With more than 30 partners in 15 countries all around the world, the Eye on Films project is a guarantee of festival exposure and commercial exploitation, for OLIVER SHERMAN and other titles soon to be confirmed in the EoF selection.
A call for films was officially launched in March, and we have already received a lot of submissions and reviewed films from very promissing young directors. We will soon announce new titles for the Eye on Films selection, with a couple of pearls highly recommanded for Cannes selections… We are accepting entries all year long, and we are inviting directors, producers and sales agents to submit their work via Cinando Online Screening Room — provided the fact it fulfills the EoF regulations!
